Cuspis Church Medical & Security

Medical response playbooks and discreet security culture for Sunday gatherings — so elders, deacons, and safety teams can love their neighbor without turning worship into a clinic or a fortress.

Read this first

  • This division does not create a clinic, does not replace 911, and does not authorize anyone to practice beyond their license, credential, or training.
  • Clinician-only procedures (for example needle decompression, surgical airway, or LMA in a crashing patient) are restricted to a licensed physician, PA, NP, or paramedic acting within scope under the church medical director.
  • When in doubt: scene safety, call 911, ABCs, bleed control, stay with the patient, document, and give a clean handoff to EMS.

Medical

Neighbor-love with a kit and a plan

Scripture frames the work: love of neighbor (Luke 10), and the charge of elders and deacons to care for the flock. Medicine is not liturgy. The goal is competent first care — then get out of EMS's way.

Purpose

A single topical playbook for problems most likely during a Sunday gathering — adult worship, Sunday School, nursery, and the kids' playground. Emphasis on early recognition, correct first actions, the kit you actually have on campus, and rapid EMS when the clock matters.

What teams get

  • Shared language for medical volunteers and safety leads
  • Scenario-shaped first actions — not a full SOP dump on the web
  • Handoff habits that respect EMS and local medical direction

Security

Wise as serpents, innocent as doves

Matthew 10:16 sets the tone. Security is not the mission — the Great Commission is. Security is quiet work so worship is not interrupted.

Culture

Mistaken for hospitality: smiling, present, unremarkable. Covert, not theatrical. No large earpieces, plate carriers, or hard stares that turn the foyer into a checkpoint.

Biblical warrant (summary)

Prudence as means, not fatalism — Nehemiah 4:9; John 10:12–13; Proverbs 22:3; Luke 22:36. Watchfulness and readiness serve the flock; they do not replace trust in God.

Mission · Vision · Culture

  • Mission: protect the flock, the pastor, and the children so the church can gather in peace.
  • Vision: spiritually mature, tactically competent, legally informed, medically ready, and culturally invisible until needed.
  • Culture: persons of peace — hospitality first, force last, always under elder oversight.
